Overview

This guide covers advanced interactions available through the three-dot menu when hovering over a position card. These actions provide additional flexibility for managing and structuring your organization.

Advanced Position Actions

1. Selecting Individuals or Teams

  • Use Command + K (Mac) / Control + K (Windows) for quick multi-selection.

  • Select an entire team to apply bulk changes.

2. Changing Manager Assignments

  • Instead of dragging and dropping, use the Change Manager option.

  • Assign a position or team under a new leader without manually repositioning it.

3. Adding a Backfill

  • Closes an existing position and creates a new position to replace it.

  • Useful for succession planning and ensuring vacancies are properly filled.

4. Creating Dotted Line Reporting

  • Establishes matrix reporting structures.

  • Allows a position to report to multiple managers for cross-functional collaboration.

5. Setting a Position as a Root

  • Makes a position a top-level role (e.g., like a CEO).

  • Allows for multiple root positions within the org chart.

6. Commenting on a Position

  • Attach notes and comments to specific positions.

  • Tag collaborators to share feedback or discuss changes in real-time.

By leveraging these advanced actions, you can optimize org structure, succession planning, and collaboration within Agentnoon.
