# August 2024

In August, we made several enhancements and fixes to improve the overall functionality and user experience of our platform. This month, our focus was on refining the product for better performance and usability, especially for larger organizations.

### 🚀August Highlights:

**Bug Fix:**&#x20;

* We resolved a minor display error where names containing apostrophes, such as "O’Neill," were being double-counted. This fix ensures that names are displayed correctly across the platform.

**Responsive Org Chart Resizing**

* The org chart now dynamically resizes when the screen size is changed. Whether you’re switching from a full screen to a smaller window, the org chart will adjust automatically, eliminating the need for page refreshes.

**Optimized Icicle Chart with Job Titles:**

* The icicle chart has been optimized for speed, particularly benefiting larger organizations. We’ve also updated the chart to display job titles instead of names by default, providing a clearer view of organizational structure. Names are still accessible when hovering over a role.

**Enhanced Legends in Icicle Chart:**

* We streamlined the display of legends at the bottom of the icicle chart, improving readability and user experience.

**Bulk Edit Functionality:**

* A major update this month is the introduction of bulk edits. Users can now select multiple people and make changes simultaneously. This feature allows for efficient updates to departments, manager assignments, reductions, and more, all in one action.

**Improved Org Structure Filtering:**

* We’ve adjusted how filtering works within the org chart and directory. Now, filters will only be applied after you’ve selected all your criteria and pressed the "Apply" button. This change enhances performance and prevents browser slowdowns, especially in larger organizations.

**Expanded Spotlight Rules:**

* We’ve added new default spotlight rules, including the ability to highlight by direct spans (e.g., span of control of 4 or lower). These new rules complement existing ones and are available for both standard and custom setups.

**Management Cost View Update:**

* We removed the "Management Cost" view, which was a specific calculation for a single customer. Users should now utilize the "Manager View" to see the cost breakdown between managers and individual contributors. This change simplifies and clarifies the data presented.
